Chapter 1 to...

Hello everyone! I decide to ask you questions because this blog seems quiet! so I am going to start with several questions..... Which chapters are you on now? :) How do you feel about this book? What are your favorite chapters so far? What is the statement that make you thinking hard?

  1. Hey Leaders! And when I say leaders, I mean YOU! We are all leading people in this world to some capacity!

    Favorite parts so far:
    Ch 2:
Although we have heard Jeremiah 29:11 many times over ("God had a plan for your life"), I love how the author puts it on page 23, "Nothing in your life is arbitrary. It's all for a purpose."

To me-- I think of the word arbitrary as: fuzzy or not clear... and I am so grateful that God has specifically put a calling on my life, and on your lives, that is different than anyone else's. It is unique and was made just for you!

Part that made me think, wow:
    ch 3:
A young man once wrote, "I feel like a failure because I'm struggling to become something, and I don't even know what that is."
--this hits my heart because there are so many people wandering around on this earth who have no idea what their purpose is... or that they even have one. Some feel that there must be something bigger and better on this earth than living day for day... but they have no idea where to search to find it.

Now I'm sure we all have names popping in our heads of friends or family members that we know of right at this very moment that match this description. And God has a purpose for them too. Just because they haven't found God yet, doesn't mean that he isn't seeking them.

    Praise God for that!

Keep reading leaders!! You all are SO LOVED AND CHERISHED!

  2. Esther, way to take charge and get comments going!!!

    I am on Chapter 3.

I like the book. I've read it before and took notes and its really nice to see the prayers that God has answered since I read it the first time.

My favorite Chapter is 2. When I read this book the first time, I was really unhappy with my acne, weight, and skin. My acne is getting better, I am more comfortable with my weight, and I am going to terms with the scarring on my skin. Its still a work in progress though:-/

Chapter 3 made me think really hard i.e. what would your friends say that you are driven by. So, I asked my brother and he said that he thinks that I am driven by the fear of being lonely and stagnant. Well, I immediately wanted to tell him a thing or two! BUT, I didn't. AND, I'm thinking about that. Am I driven by the fear of being lonely and stagnant? IDK

  3. I am currently reading chapter five. I received some empowerment from this book because it increased my strength to throughout the day.

I like Chapter 2 because it has an awesome poem by Russell Kelfer. This poem is about God created our life with purpose. In my mind: There are 6 billion or MORE people on this earth. He already planned ALL of our lives before we were born! Unbelievable. This makes me feel like I am not alone because He created me and nobody else are same as me! That makes me feel like I am unique. :)

My eyes became like a slug that can stay stick on chapter 5 because it hits me hard about God is testing and watching us before we enter eternity. Also, it tells me that this world isn't worth for me because I won't stay here forever. After I read this chapter, my eyes started to open and able to see some tests around me. I feel good that I chose God instead of goods from earth. As a result, I am able to feel peace when I chose right path.

  4. Hey guys my thoughts so far of the book

    Chapter 1:
Most of us always think. Why me? Or why isn't it about me. This Chapter clearly outlines we maybe able to choose certain things in our life, but not our purpose!

    Chapter 2
What struck me most about this Chapter was no matter what we think of others. We are no accident, we are NOT unplanned despite any circumstance. This is only the tip of the iceberg of how we can barely even get an idea Gods undying love for us

    Chapter 3:
Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite verse...So basically this Chapter elaborated it for me. I've learned especially in College that I can't follow what others what me to do...I've got to follow what God put in my heart for my purpose. This is something that would be awesome to discuss in our lifegroup even further.

    Chapter 4:
Pastor Donna touched a little bit on this last service. 1 John 2:17...it reminds me of what she said about having our roots so deep in faith and his Word that no matter what we wont fade away. Gods promises never fade

    Chapter 5:
Life does remind us of trusts and tests. How can we be given anything bigger if we don't handle the small tasks well? This goes in every aspect of our daily lives. Our relationships between our friends, family, husband & wife, co-workers, dating relationships, with our money...Without solid trust nothing can be built, it like building your house on sand and not a rock
